We went and met Kim this morning and headed over to the Jordan River Parkway for a 16 mile run. It was 2 and a half miles to it and then we learned that the parkway is not a easy trail to navigate. You would think that the trail was cut and dry but no sometimes you had to cut through a parkinglot and other times you needed to go one direction to stay on the path and the other direction to the parking area. None the less we found our way and kept at a 9+ minute mile. At mile 6 I knew I needed to slow down or I would never survive the entire run so I dropped back and just went slow and steady.  We turned around at mile 8 and headed back. We saw Brent and he ran with us for a mile or so. Then a little further we met Leslie and Lisa.  It was fun to meet all the people from the blog. After we left them I lost steem fast. By mile 14 I was so tired and tempted to call my husband to come and pick me up. But I persevered and got back to Kim's brothers house at a very slow pace.

I now know what if feels like to be a rubber band because that is what my legs felt like. I am so glad that I did it though and Jody and Kim get 10,000 brownie points for dragging me along and waiting and waiting  and waiting for me. I definitely need to build up my miles a little slower though. I will be sore from this I'm sure.I am so greatful that tomorrow is Sunday and NO RUN DAY!!!!

Have a great weekend!!!!!!!

Paula, You were awesome! It was so great to run with you gals! I like the 10,000 brownie points, but drop the points and just give me the brownies! Let's do it again sometime!

Paula, it was so fun to meet you, I will be checking your blog too now! So did I understand right? This is your longest run to date? If so Congratulations!!!!!

Paula, nice to see your today, you looked great, tough runs are character builders, feels like the end of a marathon. Glad you stayed tough. Next time we meet on the parkway, are you up for a BS Rools run? You may think it is fun or I am crazy.

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out

You did such a great job! Way to hang in there - when we do that, we benefit the most.

fun to meet you today. Great job on the long run. My longest so far is 13 and that about killed me. Not sure how I'm going to make it through the next 2 months. It's good to see that it is possible.

Congratulations on your longest run ever! Are you training for a marathon?

From Kim on Sat, Jul 26, 2008 at 21:05:50

Lybi,

The cool thing is "NO", she's not training for a marathon! Isn't that neat that she is doing 16 miles without even having a marathon in her near future!

Paula,

Your muscles will love you! Your husband and kids might get bugged that you can't move, but they will get over it! Day of rest....day of rest...day of rest...Yeah!
